Seilie Cottage is located in the conservation
area of Gardenstown. It is a
traditional fisherman’s cottage that was built prior to 1870.
The cottage was
originally two cottages & was converted into
one. One cottage was very small, and only consisted of the ground
floor which is now the lounge and toilet.
The second cottage was the first and second floors which now comprises the
kitchen, the dining / sitting room, 2 bedrooms, and the
full bath .
We have strived to tastefully decorate Seilie Cottage to a superior quality,
and have been awarded a 4-star rating with Visit Scotland.
This last year we have been busy making
improvements which include a newly refitted
bathroom, reopening the fireplace in the lounge,
and building a stone patio in the back garden.
The cottage can sleep 4 people comfortably in
the 2 bedrooms. The bedrooms are comprised of
a king bedroom, and a double bedroom.
There is also a double futon in the lounge.
A short walking distance from the cottage is a
pub, a butcher, a baker, and a small gallery.
In the cottage there will be a
notebook which will include information about
the local area, including places not to miss, wonderful walks, castles to explore, golf
courses to master … too much to name them all!
Gardenstown
Gardenstown,
or Gamrie as the locals call it, is a quaint
seaside village that is terraced amongst the red
sandstone cliffs.
The scenery will amaze you
from the picturesque harbour, to waves crashing
against the rocks, or just the cliffs themselves
in all their majesty.
Once you have experienced Gardenstown, you will
find it hard not to keep coming back year after
year.
Exploring the many
winding paths that terrace around
Gardenstown is worth the climb.
But please keep
in mind, although Gardenstown is an incredibly
beautiful, the many stairs are not suitable for
the physically challenged.

The
shed is directly outside the back door, & houses
the washing machine.
There is a small table & two
chairs outside the back door for those smokers
who cannot smoke in the cottage. NO
SMOKING INSIDE, THANKS.
The second level, which is
accessed up additional stairs, has
recently been upgraded to a beautiful stone
patio that was literally a labor of love - each
stone & bag of sand had to be hand carried.
The
patio has table & chairs for outside dining plus
two lounge chairs for relaxing under the apple
trees.
